The Box
In the tradition of The Twilight Zone and Invasion of the Body Snatchers, this sci-fi anthology features four intertwining stories surrounding a mystical box. Bringing a fresh look to the imposter genre, humans are kept in a small metal box by inter-dimensional beings while their clones walk freely.
Obsessed with the number eleven and the cosmic relevance surrounding it, numerology technologist Trevor is determined to make contact with life from another dimension. His theories are proven correct when these beings arrive through a portal on November 11, 2011 at 11:11pm. This marks the beginning of a city-wide takeover as Trevor works with the beings to abduct people, trapping them in the box.
Meanwhile, Trevor’s plans are jeopardized by government agents who suspect his involvement. But Trevor’s biggest threat comes from Ryan, a teenage boy whose parents have fallen victim to this rash of imposters. Ryan learns about the box and sets out to free the people who are trapped inside it.
In a climactic moment, Trevor and Ryan cross paths as they struggle for control of the box. Ryan uses his technological knowledge to reverse the box’s powers, so that it now abducts inter-dimensional beings instead of humans. With events turning a complete 180, the government disguises a soldier as one of the beings and sends him into the box with the intention of infiltrating the other dimension. This twist begs the question: Who are the real imposters?
